Like the many that came before us, we arrived hoping to stay for a couple of nights but now 3 months later, we're finally leaving. We've met lots of lovely people, had loads of fun + partied exceptionally hard! Cronulla is a fab place + we rcommend Blackwoods Beach - which was our favourite nudist bathing spot! To all that we've met - thanks for the good times! If anyone fancies getting down + dirty on a farm in Buckinghamshire, feel free to contact us. We'll be back soon. Love Em + Vic XXX

Eee God Cronulla YHA...had such a mint time. I saw this website before I went to Aus with my best mate Jo, and we both decided it should be our first stop. We couldn't leave! And we kept coming back because the atmosphere was so friendly, and the parties were mint- the punch parties!! that punch was lethal. And Cronulla is great...Northies and Fusion hehehe. The best hostel in Australia!! Go to Cronulla!

Well, this is a place i am sure that i will come to again as everyone has been so friendly, helpful and just alround great fun.
Looking at the website to begin with i never realised you could have so much fun and good times at a hostel. This my first hostel and I am so glad i came to this one first. A beach 3 minutes away shops 30 seconds away and an booze shop literaly 2 seconds away.
Now going back to England is going to change my whole view on life and work and i dont think it will ever be the same again.

What can I say? I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay when 1st arriving in Sydney. I came looking for work and through the hostel I had my 1st job the day after I arrived. After a few weeks labouring for many contacts a full time job came up, and I have now been travelling around NSW on different assignments in my company ute with use of my own phone. Being away from the City you feel away from other backpackers meeting more locals than other travellers. The beach is a small walk away, as are the bars, and a short train ride will get you to a choice of clubs. The clubs only usually have locals, so anyone with an accent should have success! (English accent is loved by the chicks!) I am now living with two local guys but regularly in touch with the hostel - waiting for their next punch party! So if you're looking to work, chill near a beach or just experience the lovely place that is Cronulla, this hostel is a must to stay in!!

I have travelled to many places around the world, UK, Europe, Middle East, United States and even North Africa. After being at home in Ireland for a couple of years after living in Texas, USA my feet started to get itchy again, so I decided to give Australia a shot. Luckily for me I came across Sydney's best kept secret, 'Cronulla' and Cronulla Beach YHA ran by Mike Keogh an Ambassador for Australia. The website for Cronulla Beach YHA was without a doubt the best I could find using Google. Within two hours of making an inquiry I had a reply. I had planned only to stay for three nights, however once I got there, it was impossible to leave, with amazing Scuba Diving on the door step, great bars and clubs, restaurants and beaches and above all great Australian people. With so many things to do and see I needed work to finance this. Mike lined me up a job with a local builder doing some labouring work. I think I was the richest backpacker in Australia for a while because the job was extremly well paid and came with a BMW. What was to be a three night stop over turned into an unforgetable brilliant six months. I would like to extend my gratitude to Mike and the staff at Cronulla Beach YHA. See you next year.

I arrived in sydney skint and desperate to find a job. i had already decided to give Cronulla a try on the basis of the information given in this website and that, having written an e-mail to Mike before i arrived in australia on the subject of gaining work, he had replied that employment oppportunities came through the hostel regularly. And, to be honest, going to Cronulla was the best decision i made in australia. The first job i got led to a construction job that lasted my entire time in sydney. Incidentally it was extremely well paid too!!! If you are seriously interested in having a good lifestyle in sydney in a place which is clean, friendly, impecably well run in a suburb which has plenty of work (especially in hospitality and construction), has an awesome beach with great surf, is chilled out but with a great nightlife too and is also far enough removed from the traffic hell that is central sydney, then you should head and see Mike and Danny at Cronulla Beach YHA. They will do everything to ensure that your stay is enjoyable. I certainly have no regrets of my three months there as it enabled me to save up and see the whole of Oz. Oh, and there are loads of fit birds to perv at when you are not staring at the bottom of your beer glass!!!!

I would recommend this hostel to anyone, in fact I regularly do! So many things make this a great hostel to stay at. I stayed for a total of 7 months! The location is close enough to the city, but by the beautiful beach with a friendly laid back atmosphere. But Cronulla YHA is more than a hostel in a great place. I first stayed for 3 months during this time I met some of the best people, as many who stay are long termers working it has a real home feel to it, but many people who are only staying for a short break are included and made welcome. So when I returned after a bit of travelling it was like coming home. I spent the next 4 months both living and working in the hostel. Mike is one top guy. He is always helpful with travel tips, ideas or with help finding work, and a wicked sense of humour! I'm leaving Oz soon but not without returning to Cronulla, my favourite place, before I go.

Michael: Greetings on an Olympic anniversary. As Jenny and I were watching some of the Athens Games with two of our children, we were remembering our fabulous trip to Australia and the Sydney Games and, of course, our most pleasant visit to the Cronulla Beach YHA. In the nearly four years since we stayed with you, our children have all left home for schools and careers, leaving Jenny and I at home to plan our next adventure. Katie and Nathan came home from their universities last weekend, so we got together to watch the opening ceremonies from Athens. Their sister, Lisa, lives in the Los Angeles area, working as a fashion model and actress, and, although she couldn't join us, her recent phone calls and emails have recalled some of the fun times in Australia. Being able to stay in a hostel at the beach and still have easy train access into Sydney was what initially attracted us to your hostel. Of course, it is your generous hospitality that we remember most of all. I hope your parents are well. We enjoyed meeting them and hearing your dad's stories about Sydney in years gone by. Your mom's story of you flying off attached to the parasail is one of the best I've ever heard. Now and then I talk to young people who are planning trips to far away places. I tell them if they ever get to Sydney, be sure to visit Cronulla and the Cronulla Beach YHA. And if you ever get to the US again, please know you have an open invitation to stay at our home. Since all the kids moved out, we need help just taking up the space. I see from your web site that you continue to make your place a comfortable and fun place to stay. I hope you are well and wish you the best of luck in everything. Yours truly, Dave Sheldon
