13-May-2004 I had never been travelling before but knew I wanted to go to Australia. I spoke to a friend who had been staying over there and she recommended this hostel as the best place to start. It was the best decision I made. The layout of the hostel was excellent, there was always a great atmosphere, it was always clean and the staff were very helpful especially Michael (the owner)who is probably the most helpful person I met in my three months in Australia. There is plenty to do in Cronulla and I would advise anyone who is not sure what places to visit to start at this hostel, check out the beach, shops and surf and at the same time get some friendly advice from staff / backpackers on where to go and what to do. Be careful though I liked it here so much I stayed 7 weeks!! |

24-Mar-2004 At the end of January 2003 I started an internship at ANSTO nearby cronulla. My supervisor suggested that I stayed in a hostel in Cronulla and in the meantime I could look for an appartment. After a while staying in Cronulla Beach YHA, I didn't want to leave any more. I stayed in the hostel for more than 3 months. I had a fantastic time and I have met a lot of new people from all kinds of countries. After comming back from work it really feeled like comming home. Sometimes, back in the netherlands, I still feel like it was my home in Australia. Now I have been back in the Netherlands for almost a year now and I am defenitely comming back to Australia and especially to Cronulla YHA! |

10-Feb-2004 Not enough positive points can be mentioned about Cronulla and its YHA. This establishment was for myself a jewel stumbled upon by accident. From the neglected hostels that scatter the city of Sydney and its suburbs this place was like a palace. The proprietor Mike is a true character whose hospitality I will always be thankful for. This hostel has a real communal feeling just like one big happy family that is surrounded by the unique and mellow town of Cronulla. With only a short train journey to the centre of Sydney, do yourself a favour and book a place while you still can. |

20-Jan-2004 this hostel is without a shadow of a doubt the best hostel ive stayed in! that probably explains why i spent so long there! mike and danny are legendary and are truly top people to have running a hostel. the atmosphere in the hostel is really fantastic and as for northies on a sunday - well the women are out of this world!! haha! |

4-Jan-2004 When I decided to come to Cronulla I wasn't sure if I was going to like it because I'd only heard of Bondi - what an error. I've been all round Oz and this is by far the best place I've been to, it's good for work as the hostel will find it for you, then at night the place will transform into a friendly lively drinking place. |

8-Dec-2003 Coming to Australia alone, it was excellent how hospitable Michael and his fully motivated team, settled me in to this excellent hostel. Within days the offers of work and sex were coming in abundanse. This is an awesome place to stay. Why stay in the city? The surf is excellent and facilities are very good quality. God bless Cronulla YHA! |

20-Nov-2003 I've been in Cronulla four times. The hostel was suggested by a good friend of mine and each time I came to Cronulla I stayed in the YHA. It's simply the best. The third time I stayed the longest, a little over 2 months, and the people there became a sort of a surrogate family to me. Coming back for the fourth time, for only two nights after travling through most of Oz, it was really like coming home again. Sadly I had to go. One terrific highlight was the pontoon party. If I'm coming back to Australia one day Í am going to stay in Cronulla for a long, long time! |

11-Aug-2003 Hi Folks. Just wanted to say thank you to Cronulla YHA! I really appreciated their hospitality. I came to Cronulla without a real plan, just knew I had to work to finance my further travels. After 3 days Michael found me a job and I had ongoing work for 8 weeks. After 5 months I called up again and asked about work and they said: no problem!! So once more I returned to Cronulla, one of the easiest places to stay, and if you look for a job: this is the right place!! Hallo Leute. Ich wollte mich nochmal bei den Leuten von dem YHA in Cronulla bedanken. Ich schätzte wirklich ihre Gastfreundschaft. Ich kam zu Cronulla ohne einen realen Plan, wußte gerade, daß ich arbeiten mußte, um meine weiteren Spielräume zu finanzieren. Nach 3 Tagen fand Michael mir einen Job und ich hatte fortwährende Arbeit für 8 Wochen. Nach 5 Monaten rief ich wieder an und fragte nach Arbeit und sie sagten: kein Problem!! So kam ich noch einmal zurueck nach Cronulla, einer der besten Plätze, um zu relaxen und wenn du nach einem Job suchst: dieses ist der rechte Platz!! |

20-Jun-2003 I arrived in Cronulla November 2002 looking for both work and a cool place to stay over the summer and found both. At first I started labouring as a result of other travelers in the hostel telling me that their boss needs more workers and didn’t look back from there at a $120 a day. After 2 months of working I started traveling and returned in May to start working again. Just come down and Mike will find you a job. |

20-Jun-2003 It’s hard to believe I arrived with my sister 1 year ago now and still love it. I needed work almost immediately so after a bit of leg work I manage to secure jobs in local restaurants and off licenses, which kept me busy sometimes up to 70 hours per week. I saved enough money to take short trips in style up and down the east coast and even to Bali. All the time knowing that my jobs were safe back in Cronulla, which has now become more like a home away from home. |
